What Is Pilates and How Can It Benefit You?

Pilates (pi-LAH-teez) is a form of body conditioning developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the early 20th century. The method encompasses exercises that simultaneously stretch and strengthen muscles. Pilates is based on the principle that before working the peripheral parts of the body, the core needs to be strong and stable. It is a disciplined form of exercise that combines Eastern and Western philosophies, which includes co-ordination and positioning of the body, balance, breathing techniques and body mechanics.

Our tranquil, fully equipped studio is situated in The Point Centre, in the newly opened world class BUC Fitness Club. We are conveniently located in the heart of the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town. We offer one-on-one sessions, duo's and group sessions with Pilates equipment  and matwork classes. With BASI® qualified instructors, your sessions will be tailor made for your specific requirements and abilities. You will receive professional assistance to ensure that your optimum muscle balance is reached. Our studio is quiet, with a relaxed setting, which is the ideal environment to enhance your Pilates experience and support your goals. Our studio also includes gym showers and changing rooms for your convenience, and our juice bar serves up the tastiest brews, healthy snack and juices and you can also log your Vitality points for your workouts.
